Beechwood is a family run guesthouse with a coveted Four Star Gold award. Built in traditional Lakeland style (circa 1900) and maintaining many of it's original features, the house is visible from the main road running through Bowness, but sits just behind a Rose garden. Ideally situated for exploring the Lake District with excellent transport links, we are a mere 10 minute stroll from Lake Windermere and all local amenities such as shops, restaurants, bars and local attractions. You can travel by boat to Ambleside to the North or Lakeside to the South or take the island cruise around Windermere. Beechwood boasts an elegant lounge where you can relax after a day's activities by simply reading, having a go at our jigsaw or just unwinding with a glass of wine in front of the fire.All of our rooms are individually decorated to suit the period in which the house was built and all home comforts are provided to make your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We offer free WiFi and can also advise you of walks and provide maps and walking guides where required. Being a family run guesthouse, we are on hand should you require any assistance or advice during your stay. We also offer drying facilities and safe storage for bicycles.Off road parking is also available.Please be advised that we do not accept children under the age of 14 years old.

Directions

From the M6 take Juntion 36 onto A590. Continue onto A591 till Windermere. Turn into Windermere village and drive through one way system towards Bowness (about a mile). As you pass the Police station on your left, the road bends left, Beresford Road is the next on your left. Turn into Beresford Road with the Rose garden on your left, Beechwood is the first building after the Rose garden.
